The Fire TV Recast and Other Devices Are on Sale Now

In celebration of Alexa’s 6th birthday (on November 6th), Amazon has discounted the price of its Fire TV Recast to its historic low price. As a reminder, the Recast was launched last year and allows you to watch and record over-the-air (antenna) TV through your Fire TV devices. Both the 500GB and 1TB model are on sale now through November 4th. Read about my thoughts on the Recast here and if you already own a Recast, check out my top tips and tricks here.

The sale includes some of Amazon’s most popular latest Fire TV devices. Amazon introduced the new Fire TV Stick Lite this year which is their cheapest streaming device to date. The Lite gives you access to streaming apps at the sacrifice of controlling your TV with the Fire TV remote. However, if you want TV control or access to 4K content, you’ll want to step up to the regular Fire TV Stick or the Fire TV Stick 4K respectively.

Also on sale is the Fire TV Blaster which allows you to control your TV with Alexa voice commands if you already own a Fire TV stick and Echo device. This product is geared towards people that already own a Fire TV Stick and Echo device. If you are new to Fire TV, the Fire TV Cube is the best option to buy as it essentially combines all three into one device. Read my thoughts on the first generation Cube here. A second-generation Cube was release last year with improved performance.

Here’s the complete list of devices and their current discounted price.

Conclusion

The Fire TV Recast is a great way to gain access to local news and sports while getting integrated into the sleek Fire TV interface. Hurry to act now to get the lower price. While the price has been this low before, it only happened during this same time last year. I’ve been using my Recast a lot to watch and record local sport broadcasts.

If you don’t own a Fire TV device already, you should consider owning one. The Fire TV ecosystem is one of the most popular one out there with access to the overwhelming majority of streaming apps. Alexa voice controls are an added benefit to control your smart home devices or TV.
